We conduct pre-construction soil tests for site classification in accordance with AS 2870-2011.

What we do:

  • Prior to the site visit we conduct a desktop analysis to gain an understanding of soil types that may be present, water inundation areas and terrain slope.
  • On site were conduct dynamic cone penetrometer tests to determine bearing capacity of the site, and areas of soil instability at depth.
  • We use an auger to drill a test hole, describe the soil layers, conduct pH, EC and soil moisture test.
  • We collect samples from the hole for laboratory analysis and manage this process the laboratory.
  • We determine the characteristic soil movement of the site and use this to determine the site classification which your engineer will need for slab and footing design.
  • Prepare a detailed report for your builder/engineer.
